Happy Mother’s Day! What a blessing it is to be a mom to Leia and Ivy. I am so thankful for my husband and girls! Thank you for making my day extra special. I love you all bunches!

Muffins and Mom

Leia and Ivy’s school had their annual Mother’s Day celebration, Muffins and Mom on Friday. This was the first year Leia has been old enough to participate in the celebration. Ivy joined in with Leia’s class since her class does not do it. I love the fact Leia and her teachers are always excited and willing to let Ivy join in the fun too.

Ivy fed herself today. She has been just opening her mouth like a bird expecting others to feed her but today she picked up puffs all by herself. She’s getting so big.

Leia is following Lisa’s footsteps helping Mimi in the yard. Mimi had been working in the yard since the end of tax season getting everything looking pretty.

Crawfish Boil 2012

One of Chris and Lisa’s first few dates was to John and Carol’s annual crawfish boil. It is always a great time with lots to eat! John and his step dad, Lance do an amazing job cooking the main course. Carol always does and amazing job decorating and sends fun party goodies home for Leia (and Ivy this year). This year is the first year Leia has not came with us since she arrived; instead she spent the night at Mimi and Papa’s while Ivy hung out with mommy and daddy since she is still on mommy’s milk. Leia had a blast at Mimi and Papa’s (even told mommy she was not ready to go home when Lisa went to pick her up – a first). Even though Leia was not there, Mrs Carol sent her home a necklace, sombrero, maracas, and yummy shrimp and crawfish (Leia LOVES seafood!). Ivy partied-hard with mommy and daddy staying out till 9:00. Really, Ivy did AWESOME since we were outside ALL DAY and she did not get a good nap the whole day either. While Ivy did not get to partake in the main course (daddy thought she was too young or it was to spicy) she enjoyed yummy fruit and dips with everyone, entertaining the adults, and watching the kids run around. Thank you John and Carol for a great time with friends!

Magnolia Festival

Leia has been going to Magnolia Festival in Gardendale since she was swimming in mommy’s belly. Mimi and Papa has gone with us each year too. Lisa, Leia, Mimi and Papa always have enjoyed it while Chris goes to amuse us. Miss Ivy seemed to have fun this year too so daddy is getting out numbered even more whit those that seem to enjoy it. This year was the best year yet though! Leia had so much fun on the carousal, slide, boats, etc. It was entertaining watching her excitement. Ivy was a trooper too! I am sure next year Leia and Ivy will have even more fun when Ivy can run around with Leia. Both girls worked up a good appetite. Ivy got to share a barbecue sandwich with mom while Leia ate a chicken sandwich and icy (thanks to Papa). They increased the food choices this year too. It is fun to see how the event gets larger each year. We also bought a items at the arts and crafts area too before we had to go for Leia to take a nappy. However, she was not ready to leave and talked Mimi and Papa into taking her back after nappy since she was spending the night with them while Daddy, Mommy, and Ivy were going to John and Carrol’s crawfish boil.

Summer Fun

The heat has hit Alabama so the summer water fun has begun. We pulled Leia and Ivy’s pool out from last year to wash it and fill it up for a little fun.

Once the pool was full Leia had to pick out a toy or ten to put in the pool

Of course it is always more fun with a friend! Leia had invited Stella to play. She had tried waiting on her to get in but she just couldn’t stand the wait but was so excited when she saw her coming across the street to play. Leia and Ivy’s little pool may be a hit this summer.

Nap Mat Fun

Deedee made Leia a nap may for school when she moved out of a crib at school. Leia loves her nap mat! It needed washing so it was at home and Leia decided she and sister should play with her mat while mommy cooked dinner. They both had a blast! It is such a blessing hearing both girls laughing in the play room from the kitchen and seeing their eyes light up when they see each other.

Cousin Kristi’s Baby Tea for Baby Bentley

Sunday, we got to celebrate cousin Kristi’s little boy, Bentley. We are looking forward to meeting him in June. The shower was beautiful as was the glowing mom-to-be.

This event also marked Ivy and Sara’s first baby shower.

Stacy and I could not count the hours or miles we rode our go-cart growing up. Papa and Mimi recently got it fixed so the grand-girls can start making memories on it too. Although the only one brave enough to get on it right now is big cousin Sara. I am sure our girls will be ready soon. Looking forward to watching them
