Day one is behind

10 Dec

Day one is now behind me.  We spent the afternoon at the Dobb’s residence in Gardendale where I prone to munching on snacks and treats all day long.  I had self control through the entire day.  I did not raid the refrigerator or the pantry.  I left all of the chocolate treats and receese peanut butter cups alone.  I felt good with my self control for the first full day.

Must have self control

09 Dec

My most difficult times are when I am somewhere with easy access to snacks and treats. One of the places that we visit a lot is The Dobb house. Sheila is sure to have snacks and treats out and readily available.

When I am there I find myself eating Oreos and other cookies. Every time I walk through the kitchen I find myself with something in my hand to eat.

Today we are out here and I plan to be good. At lunch I was good. One small filet with a single rib and a small salad. My drink was a coke zero.

3rd Resurrection of this blog

08 Dec

This is the third resurrection of my health/fitness/life blog.  I plan on it being the last time for I want this to be a living tale of my journey to live a healthier lifestyle.

On Monday December 3, 2012 at approximately 12:20am my father-in-law died suddenly of a Heart Attack at the young age of 58.  His father had died of a heart attack at the age of 44.

As discussed on my About Page I am overweight and Type II diabetic.  I have half-heartedly tried to correct my eating habits and have a exercised in short bursts but my weight has continued to climb and my blood sugar is not where it needs to be.  I have a lot of work to do to get there.

I am not here to ask for your encouragement (though it will be appreciated) and I am not here out of vanity.  I am writing this blog so that I may hold myself accountable for my actions, decisions, and changes.

I plan to document each day here, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

This site does have an option to subscribe to receive email updates but I currently have that feature disabled until I have some progress to report.
